The A-24 Banshee differed from its USN counterpart (i.e. the SBD Dauntless)in that it did not have an arresting hook and the tail wheel was pneumatic...and of course the final color. Those A-24's passed on the the USN had the letter "A" attached to the extreme right hand position of the designation (e.g. SBD-3A)indicating former army usage.

On June 1946,an A-24 made an emergency landing in a field near Lubbuck Field,Texas after an AT-6,with a dead pilot,rammed the aircraft`s tail.
