I found this website. I want to know how to find out where the shows are for the old wwII bombers. I thought the jets were great until I recently saw a B25 start up and fly over. That sound of that engine and the aroma at takeoff has sold me. I am in Calif but will travel. Thanks to all those who have maintained these great planes for future generations to enjoy.

To paraphrase: The Ghost Squadron is becoming a ghost of its former self. Having visited the CAF's Airshow 2002 at Midland on Oct. 5, I can only say the show was noteworthy for was was NOT flown, rather than what was. During their peak in the late 1970s, you could expect to see at least one of every major US fighter and bomber of WWII. Many other warbird owners proudly brought their planes to fly at the CAF Airsho. At the latest CAF Midland show, only a comparative handful of Army Airforce and Navy aircraft flew. Too many famous planes were not shown. Maybe CAF Management and Planning needs to refocus its thinking. I would have to rate the CAF's Airshow 2002 as disappointing. If only the various museums would combine their efforts, reinforcing each others's airshows, it would be to everyone's benefit.

I was saddened to hear of Henry Potter's passing--I met Henry at the CAF museum in San Marcos, TX after the '98 flood. He was swinging a hammer and looking pretty good! Mr. Potter graciously posed for a photo with me (I was in Texas with the Red Cross as a Disaster Services volunteer, and I'm a member of the Yankee Air Force out of Wurtsmith, MI). I couldn't, and can't, find the adequate words to express the gratitude I feel toward men like Mr. Potter, who helped guarantee the freedoms we have today. He downplayed his role in history, but he and others like him deserve a special respect. Please forward this to his family...I feel honored to have made his acquaintance. Sincerely, Jacque Bester

I've gone to every show the CAF has had in Frederick, MD and enjoyed them all. It's more than an air show, it's an experience that the whole family can enjoy. I look forward to it every August.

When will you ever be scheduled to appear at the New Orleans Air Show. It always takes place the last weekend of October and is held at the Naval Air Station in Belle Chase, LA, south of New Orleans. I would really like to expose my family to those great flying machines and their pilots from another time and another place.
