Eddie Merchant, Team Leader for the Star Aerobatic Demonstration Team, is former right wing for the Holiday Inn/Coca-Cola Aerobatic Team. Eddie grew up in the Midwest surrounded by aviation. He soloed at 16 years old and gave his first airshow demonstration at the tender age of 17. A graduate of Parks College of Aeronautical Technology in St. Louis, Missouri in 1970, Merchant earned a degree in Aeronautical Administration and during college, obtained his instrument, commercial, multi-engine and certified flight instructor ratings. During his college career, Merchant received the highest honor of "Top Pilot" from the National Intercollegiate Flying Association. Following college, Merchant became Chief Pilot for one of the world's largest aerobatic flight schools. Since then, Merchant has been a professional pilot and businessman and holds numerous competition and airshow flying awards. Eddie Merchant is the founder and owner of the Star Aerobatic Demonstration Team. He has performed in over 600 demonstrations and has logged 8,000 hours of flying time
Doug Dodge, Right Wing for the Star Aerobatic Demonstration Team, began his flying career at the age of 16. By the age of 22, he was flying airshows demonstrating the "Messerschmitt Munson." He later added a "Super Bucker Jungman" to the act demonstrating both the old and the new of German aviation. In 1977, Doug converted to the Pitts Special aircraft and in 1984 teamed up with World Aerobatic Champion, Betty Stewart, in a duel formation act. In 1987, Doug began his own business which specializes in the building of aerobatic aircraft and components for such aircraft. In 1989, Doug took over the responsibility of becoming Manager of the "James Clemments Memorial Airport" in Bay City, Michigan. Doug has accumulated over 10,000 hours of pilot in command of which 5,000 hours have been in aerobatic aircraft and 3,000 hour in cropdusting Ag aircraft.
Bob Griffin, alternate pilot for The Star Aerobatic Demonstration Team, began his flying career in 1967 with the U.S. Navy. Following his tour with the Navy, Bob flew for several corporations as Chief Pilot. He holds an ATP certificate with type ratings in Lear Jet, Citation Jet, Falcon Jet and B737 aircraft. Bob has flown over 30 types of aircrafts including the F8, F4J and F14 and has logged over 10,000 hours flying time. In addition to alternate pilot, Bob handles many of the ground details associated with the team

The Star Aerobatic Demonstration Team aircraft are designed for specialized formation flying and precision aerobatics. The team's aircraft make an impressive and colorful spectacle in the sky as they are put through their thrilling aerobatic routines.
All three team aircraft have passenger seats available for media and V.l.P. ride capability.
The Star Aerobatic Demonstration Team is a superbly trained precision flying team. An intense three month training session precedes each airshow season. The members of this exciting formation team have logged over 40,000 hours of flight time in more than 300 different aircraft.
The Star Aerobatic Demonstration Team will be featured in approximately 100 performances per year at over 20 airshow sites throughout North America during their 10 month season. They will draw a total attendance in excess of 7 million spectators,
