1938 Jul, 14 Lands in Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, NY ending a record-setting flight around northern hemisphere, in a time of 3 days, 19 hours, 8 minutes. He flew a Lockheed 14-N Super Electra "New York World's Fair 1939".
1946 Jul, 07 Survives crash in his XF-11 twin-engined reconnaissance aircraft during test flight.
1947 Feb, 02 Pilots the first and only flight of his H-4 Hercules "Spruce Goose", the largest airplane of its time, in Long Beach, CA.
