Baumgardner Wins UAA Honor

Freshman fencer Zoe Baumgardner of New York University was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on February 5, 2007. She received the honor after posting a 12-1 record in the foil during the MIT/Brandeis University Invitational on February 4.

Baumgardner won all three bouts against Boston College, Brandeis, and MIT, posted a pair of wins against the University of Pennsylvania, and recorded a split against Brown.

In her first year at NYU, the Brooklyn native is 33-11 on the season, with a superb winning percentage of .750.
