This is in my opinion the finest museum in Calgary. The aircraft onsite are maintained in mint condition--I had trouble photographing them because of the gloss! The staff go out of their way to be helpful; the museum's president was happy to show my family around the museum and meticulously explain each exhibit. Besides, this is the only museum I've been to where you can set up a torpedo shot on downtown. There's no aircraft really there, but a side note should be made about the Museum of the Regiments about eight blocks south of HMCS Tecumseh. It's also a wonderfully done museum and definitely worth a visit after you're done with the naval side of the house. It does have a small aircraft model collection and a cutaway C-130 fuselage to walk through.

I have made many visits to the HMCS Tecumseh Naval Museum of Alberta, and I feel that the management, housing and aircraft in the collection are a superior example of how a museum dedicated to the Navy and to Aviation should be maintained. As a former Pilot who has logged time on Tiger Moth, Mk IV Harvard, P-51 Mustang and DC-3 aircraft, I feel that this museum is responsible with the care and ongoing maintenance of their aircraft, knowledgeable and helpful in the guidance of all who visit the museum and charges reasonably for all one receives in his visit to this museum. The City of Calgary would be wise to take a long look at how this museum is maintained, that it would serve as a fitting example for other museums in the area.

There's only really 3 aircraft at the naval museum. It does, after all, concentrate on primarily. It does however have a SeaFire, a Sea Fury (magnificent plane) and a F2H Banshee, one of the first carrier borne jet aircraft. All 3 are in beautiful condition. I just wish the naval museum would get their hands on an Avenger or a Swordfish (of the two, I realize the Avenger is far more likely). Both of those planes served Canada in a much more effective role in u-boat sinkings.
