Only a brief visit with the British Aviation Enthusiasts Society [see our website http://www.baes.org.uk]but besides the F20 Tigershark there was a T38. Outside was a most interesting Blackbird trainer with two cockpits, a rare bird! It was displayed so it could be photographed from most angles. Didn't have time to visit the other museums on site.

Ca Science Center is an EPCOT type experience. That is, many colorful and noisy hands on kids activities and LOTS of screaming children running all over on class trips. Its hardcore science saving grace is its pair of actual spacecraft. A mercury capsule whose passenger was Ham the chimp and the Gemini 13 capsule with heat shield intact. They are inside skin-tight acrylic shells so you can walk around them, 360, like you can your own car. There are about four jets, an ex-LAPD chopper, and a 1920-30s era plane. The jets are up on the ceiling, the Lockheed Starfighter is on the outside of the building. (How many of these are stuck here and there around So.Cal anyway?) Added bonus: the Bell X-1 fullscale mock-up used for "The Right Stuff". Donation expected. Parking is $7, but is the same lot for other museums such as Natural History.

I'm one of the remodelers at the Science Center and it looks great! It has a F-20 Tigershark. It is awesome. I prefer not to tell anymore cause it will give away what will be there Check it out when it opens!

Museum is still closed for remodeling. Sign on outside of building indicates that it will reopen in Spring 2002.
