My wife is a teacher and as a result of her taking a class on a field trip, she and I went to an open house. I was surprised by the number of various programs being conducted by JPL. I found all of the displays very informative and enjoyed seeing some of them in action. I would highly recommend it for anyone with an interest in space.
One should remember this is a real working lab not a theme park. The characters are for the kids . 07/14/2007 @ 09:56 [ref: 6070]

The fake flying saucer is cheesy. The fat guards
in the \"ET\" costume fooled nobody. My boy kicked them
the knee and they deserved it. Y\'all should be proud
and contact AREA 51 for some real aliens. Them
critters yonder have been in the country long enough
to be considered AMERICANS. So let\'s put more
Americans to work. And put them real Martians
greeting good ol\' folks like me and my family on
a weekend at the beautiful JPL. Thank you for
lettin\' me say my piece. 03/17/2002 @ 21:00 [ref: 1955]

It is a small museum with a full size "spare"
Galileo spacecraft and some exhibits of current
project. More like a PR exhibit than a real
museum. You can also visit the assembly building
viewing whatever spacecraft is being built from
a gallery. There are models and small exhibits
throughout JPL. On outside dispay are a Corporal
and a Sergeant missile. 06/04/2000 @ 12:52 [ref: 166]
