C Chella , Massachusetts | This is a very worthy museum of your time and money. The exhibits are well done, and the docents and volunteers are quite knowledgeable. Lots to see and do. If you do nothing else, take a tour of The USS Massachusetts. This will open your eyes to the REAL riggors of war. For the youngsters, there is a carousel on the grounds, and a train museum across the street (both only open part of the year). Free parking too! 04/04/2008 @ 10:22 [ref: 7276] |
Frank Silvia Westport, Massachusetts | As an Air Force veteran and 28 years with the Navy I highly recommend this site.
As a result of our military status and the present conflicts. It has become difficult to engage and view our military history at local bases and camps.
This museum provides an opportunity to scouting organizations with overnight camping on board the USS Massachusetts and tour the other ships and their facilities.
An experience every child will remember forever. Advance reserving is mandatory with appropriate adult supervision. 10/29/2007 @ 12:56 [ref: 6450] |
