I was at Kadena air Base Okinawa 1972-73 in 376 oms launch, and worked on RC 62-4131,4132,4134,4135,4138,4139. I was the assistant crew chief on 4139. That was a great time, and I can't believe those planes are still flying. They were all M models back then.

I was crewchief on 4131 and 4132 at Mcguire AFB from 1963 to 1966. I still miss them.

127 is currently at Offutt as a TC-135 trainer. Once the big motors were put on it has been a fairly good jet

I flew both B and C model 135's at Hickam. While I was there we had 127 (Miss Piggy) and 668. Don't know what happened to 127 but I flew 668 on what ended up being its final flight to Tinker. Once there for depot is was decided the corrosion repairs required were not economically feasible and the aircraft was grounded.

671 is in fact on display at Tinker but when it was originally placed on display it was painted up as a KC-135 instead of the unique DV scheme it carried. Many who flew the DV birds voiced their dislike for KC paint job and the aircraft was repainted in its DV scheme of which it still carries today.

61-2670 and 2672 were WC-135B's until 1993/1994 when they wer converted to OC135B's. Acft 61-2667 was a WC-135B until upgrade to a "W" model around 1993. It was joined by an EC-135C, acft 3582 which became a WC-135C model around 1999.

I flew on WC-135Bs 61-2665, 61-2666, 61-2667, 61-2671, and 61-2672 as an atmospheric research equipment maintainer from January 1989 to October 1993 when the mission was scaled back to a single remaining aircraft - 61-2667. The 55th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron owned the aircraft, and they flew out of (now closed) McClellan AFB in Sacramento, California. We flew them literally around the world, and we made regular excursions to Asia, South America, Europe, and Africa. However, our most common destination was the polar ice cap, hence the name 55 WRS Pole Vaulters.
Also, there is a plaque in 61-2666 for setting a payload to altitude record shortly after the aircraft was produced. We still called her Satan's Sled.
