Acft DB-17G was assigned to the 3205 Drone Squadron at Duke Field Fla and auxiliary field assigned to Eglin AFB Fla. We flew QB17 out of Duke field in the 1950's to be exact 1956 thru about 1959 to early 1960. We had some real exciting monemts when launching the QB17 and especially on landing when they came back under Nullo conditions unmanned. I flew many hours in the above acft as and assistant crew chief with my favor spot being in the nose as it was lots of fun when you are young. Acft 997 was a DB-17G and I do not know what ever happen to her after I transferred in late 1959.I am sure that she was probably destroyed after all the QB were shot down. If any of the readers happen to know they can e-mail me or check my web site www.homestead.com/larrysaircraft.home.html
