Turner AFB, was my first permanent duty station out of Tech school in 1966/67. I came in there with a group of other one stripers to work on the "new" c-135's we were getting. And we were going to have a lot more to work on when we got to Forbes AFB,KS. I stayed at Forbes until August of 1968 when I was reassigned to the 7th Air Commando Sq., Ramstein AFB,Germany. It would be great to hear from any of the guys we worked under and learned from. That was when a buck sergeant was GOD, right Pete Porter?? ha ha. Email me if you wish at Jackrun1@aol.com.

I spent 4yrs working hydraulics/in flight refueling boom on the 135's at Grissom in the mid 80's with two tours to Panama. Had a great time all the way around. The crazy Red head in the hydraulic shop.

I was a crew chief on 63-8058 at Grissom in the 80's until it let for alaska! It was a great jet to work on!! I have many good memories of preflights at 2am!! I have been trying to find out where the 4 jets are located, It seems funny that I have tracked them done to the Kansas ANG at Forbes Field!!! from what i can tell they DO have TF-33's but are still classified as KC-135D's
I have some pictures of 8058 from when it was at grissom I just need to get them scanned onto my computer, then I will upload them here!!!

I was one of the original Shiran/TPR operators on the RC 135A during the Category 2 test phase at Wright Patterson AFB Ohio. Also attended Kolsman and Cubic Corp. training on both systems.

I was a 30151 nav aids repairman assigned to the 1370th PMW at Forbes AFB 1967-1970. I tranfered from the nav shop to SHIRAN. I spent a lot of time on the RC135 doing inertial navigator run ups ... they took hours! I'm also glad to see something on the web about my unit.

I was assigned to the 1370th (and later to the 1 ACGS) from 1968 - 1971 as an autopilot specialist and worked all four of the RC-135's. They were equiped with computer systems (from the old Skybolt missle program)for making topo maps.

I worked on these aircraft while stationed at Forbes 1967 thru 1970. I was assigned to the Hydraulic Shop at Forbes, 1370th FMS. I would like to make connections with anyone who worked in the Hyd shop during that time. I have been looking for a Bob Gilliard who was there during that time. Any help would be appreciated. Great to see something about the 1370th.
