I was a Rescue Swimmer at MCAS Cherry Point, Iwakuni and Beaufort. It was the best flying I have ever done, met some great people and made some good memories. I crewed 151924 to Davis Monthan.

I was stationed at Iwakuni from 2000-2003. The first two years was with H&HS SAR. I was in Maintenance Control and signed the birds over to the Navy in Guam.

It was a sad day. Great memories though. Met a lot great pilots and mechs.

Was a Iwakuni SAR Swimmer 82-84ish and it was the best damn duty of my career. Many great pilots and crewmembers that I had the pleasure of serving with!

MCAS Iwakuni was my first duty Station as an Avionics Tech I tried to stay but they were closing down and ended up at MCAS Miramar HMM-166. Old as those birds were boy were they clean. I do miss the excitment of a turnup on a callout (don't miss that damn beeper though!)

I was a crewcheif/ rescue swimmer in HC-5 out of Guam 1989-1992. Best Damn time of my life. I hear they dont fly those birds anymore, moved to Anderson AFB and got a permanent Det. in Japan now. I need just one more look thru the Hell Hole! Pickle, pickle, pickle...

I was stationed at Iwakuni with the SAR unit. It was a sad day to see our fine Phrogs packed up and shipped to Guam to give to the Navy. I got in some flying, only as a rescue victim, and on picture taking tours. I miss the rush of air when one of them would turn up, the vibration of the aircraft in flight, and so many other things.
