| John D. Voss , CA | There were three XPB4Y-2 constructed all modifications from -1 Liberators. These prototype aircraft were characterized by having a seven foot fuselage extension forward of the wing, two top turrets,tear drop turrets in the waist position and the lower ball turret removed. These three protypes also retained the twin tail of the Liberator and was known as the "Sea Liberator". These aircraft were eventually modified with the high single tail and renamed "Privateer".
