Here is a picture of N7779B a Super C-46 that was flown in passenger service with Cordova Airlines in the 1960's. It was equipped with 55 seats and could be loaded with various configurations of passengers and cargo. I flew on it and loaded it for several years. It was a real workhorse and was flown round the clock after the 1964 earthquake delivering food and supplies to cities whose roads were impassable for a time.

I'm looking for photos of C-46s on the Hump operation or in the CBI in WWII that I can use as a basis for illustrations for my new novel "Winds of Fate." Anyone who can send me some pics will get a credit in the acknowledgments.
Thanks, Bob DeBurgh. 08/20/2006 @ 18:46 [ref: 13935] |
