Cool. I thought so. Because I have a scale model of the an F/A-18 Super Hornet with VFA-14 Tophatters decals. That's why the Tophatters logo was so familiar in King Kong. Kudos to Peter Jackson, the director of the movie, for having an eye on detail.

Youre correct. This aircraft was indeed depicted in King Kong. It was utilized by the 1933 "High Hatters," now known as VFA-14 "Tophatters", whom I serve with stationed here in Lemoore, CA. We now operate the F/A-18E Super Hornet. Thanks.
