Given the serial numbers, 23 were supplied to the USAAF vice 22. This conforms with other sources on the P-40D.

The P-40D Was an Improved Version of the Warhawk with an uprated engine. This was the Fourth Version of the Warhawk to be built. The USAAF Became highly intrested in the type but could not Afford Large numbers,so of the total 506 only 22 of the P-40Ds managed to reach the USAAF.The rest were supplied to the UK and were Degisnated Kittyhawk Mk I.

THIS IS A PICTURE OF A FORMATION OF EARLY F6F-3's, NOT ANY TYPE OF P-40.
