Hi Ed, I came to 542 in the summer of 76. Did you ever know a Ben Cruz, or Dennis Knowles? It was nice to stand behind the warm exhaust on those cold days and nights.

I was in VMA-513 Ordnance from 1971 until early 1974 when I was assigned to 542 until my discharge. It was a fascinating plane and the exhaust was nice and warm on those cold mornings at Bogue Field!!

I worked in powerplants on the av8a back in the 70's. It was a challenge sometimes, but we did get the job done. It is nice to see that the harrier is still flying today.

Hi, in my earlier email I put down VMA 213 at Cherry Point as the squadron I was in when my time was up in the Marines. It was in fact VMA 231. I spent most of my time in VMA 513 in Beaufort, S.C. 1971-1973 in Avionics. If there's any Space Patrol members out there, please contact me at: alanem@mchsi.com.
