I was an instuctor on the c-140 and the civilian jet star for all variations from 1972 to 1978 and flew the aircraft for 17 years for four differant corporations.

The wing (aux) tanks held 565 gals. on the -6 and -8 modles and 601 gals. on the 731 mod and jetstar II.

The jetstar is by far my favorite jet airplane, a bit dated perhaps but a pleasure to fly.

I presently fly a GIV and think it to be quite a "truck" to fly compared to the L1329

Hey guys any ideas on the amount of fuel those mid wing fuel tanks could hold?

Regarding the C-140 Jet Star, I saw it twice on the past Month. They are still flying !
I saw it once I was departing from Monterrey, Mexico Airport. It was a very nice view from the Passanger
Area through the Runway, I saw it taxing to the runway,
then saw how it flew out to the skys.
Later that same week, while on another flight, I went to San Luis Potosi, Mexico, while departing from SLP, Mex airport I saw it parked on platform, Yes,,,it was another Jet Star C140.
I think it was a lucky to see two of them the same week in diffrent places at Mexico.

in service for Pemex (Mexican Petrochemical State Company)
and other being used as a Ticket office landed in a Mall at Guadalajara Mexico. I seen other used in Mexico for Air Taxi in Mexico City.
Other time, I saw that Mexican Gov. has other Lockheed Jet star for Militar Transportation service, I saw it during a Prsidential Campaing in Tampico,Mex during a summer of 1993.
I would like to fly in one of this Jets, please let me know if you may be able to take me on a flight of a Jet Star or if ther is any video or photos.
