Concerning the new C-40B. It also provides "global media" with a full communications suite, allowing VIP's extensive connectivity from anywhere in the world (i.e. I'm currently emailing this from the aircraft at 37,000ft over the Atlantic Ocean! A BIG improvement over the Electra Jr., aircraft!

Greetings to all,

I'm a pilot with the 89th Airlift Wing at Andrews AFB, Maryland.

The 89th will soon take delivery soon of a brand new airplane. It's a Boeing Business Jet, modified to military specs, and heavily modified for VIP international travel--26 pax, stateroom with sleeping berth, advanced communications equipment. USAF will call it a C-40B.

I notice that the designation C-40 has been used before.

Can anyone direct me to a history of, or provide personal stories about, previous aircraft designated "C-40"? I'm interested in all information about the history of the earlier models, with an emphasis on any airplanes or missions on which VIP transport was evident.

Many thanks to all who choose to reply. (My private email address appears below; please direct any replies there.)
