Description notes above are for the Northrup F-5 jet fighter.

The 200 F-5B-1-LO aircraft built between Sept. 1943 and Jan. 44 (42-67312/67401, 42-68192/68301) were the final assembly-line produced photo-recon Lightnings built by Lockheed. All later F-5 models were converted from existing P-38 fighter stock. The F-5B was essentially an early P-38J from the AC-24636 contract with a photo nose installed.
