I was a crew member on OP2E 128397 (the prototype) at NADC Warminster (Johnsville). We removed all the ASW equipment and the MAD cone. 397 was the first OP2E to have the APQ131 radar installed under the nose. The APS 20 search radar had already been removed. Also spent months at Eglin AFB flying every day working on the LAD/APN157. LCDR John Dana was the pilot. We also spent time at Howard AFB in Panama, in 1967. The bird looked cool with the SUU 11 gatling guns under the wings. It had a Norden bombsight in the nose.I spent many hours at the TellTale, and the Norden. It really looked like an air plane for combat. It was sad to lose some friends in VO67. 397 went to the bone yard in 1971.

I am very proud to have been a part of Project Potlid from the NAWC in Warminster Pa. The planes were fantastic!
