I was a crew chief on the QF 104 from 62 to 66. I remember
Maj Link Parker very well. Quite a guy,had a lot of respect
for him as well as everybody I worked with in 3214 OMS
Oddly enough, in 1996 I had the opportunity to fly the CF-104D that I put together for a friend.

I was stationed at Eglin AFB 1967-69 working as Air Ops Specialist out of Test Ops. I remember the QF-104's and DT-33's very well. Was an awesome sight to see the QF start to roll as the DT approached. Test Ops was a great assignment with 19 different types of aircraft and super bunch of guys to work with.

It's nice to know some people remember my dad, Lt. Col Link Parker, who flew the QF104 at Eglin. He passed away in 1994 and we miss him and his stories a lot. Thanks for the web page.

The QF-104A drone Starfighter was a very interesting version and with a very interesting story. Chuck Dildine wrote down everything he could find out and remember when he was working at Eglin with the 3205th DS. See his story on the International F-104 Society website.
