Was a privilege to get to fly the beast, especially off the Midway.

I was in H&MS-11 and VMFP3 from 1973 until 1978. I worked IMA level Com/NAV WC610. We got together at Las Vegas NOV2006. It was a great reunion. I was on the third Det on the Midway. Many of us keep in touch through a email list . Email me if you want to get on the list. I go to So Cal at least once year and drive by the old base just to reflect and remember those days. Some of the names on our list are Tommy Montier, Joe Vigue, Roger Beckler, Ray Shields, Charley Sikes, Jim Gammelgaard, Jim Dyer, Gary Shoemake, John Hester, Jimmy Stewart and many others.

Semper Fi to all of my former VMFP-3 buddies. I was a Plane Captain from 1979 to 1983. I would like to invite all former Marines who served with VMCJ and VMFP-3 to a website I created that I dedicated to the RF-4B Phantom and the men and women who served. www.rf4bphantom.ms11.net Hope to see you soon.

I was in the photo lab in 80-82. I spent 6 months on the USS Midway handling maintenance when we were in port. Someone mentioned BLT's, I found a place in Portland (a Japanese Market) that makes the bread we used to get the BLT's on, my God they bring back memories. Some of the guys got together in November for a renuion in Las Vegas. I missed it, but hope to get to the next one.

One thing about p-3 was travel. I was in Photo lab w/ gunny "PI Bill" Waters. Baca, Tim Barrencott, Beaker and many others this old mind forgets names but not the good times. Lots of memories: Key West: One guy picked up 2 british babes, still got his ass pintched by a fag. I got carried and put in the back of the van(behind the seats) to the lab. Fell asleep, the van drove all over key west, hitting the bars lookin for me. Finially woke up and surprized the hell out of the driver.
Yuma: just a blurr. I remember being on I-8, w Barrencott. We were in my blue Challenger. Out of the mountains came 2 C-5's flying at tacical level. We tried to keep up, doin 140. White Sands;wonder who that was who tack marked all those Air Force birds, guess the early crew got put on their faces and locked and loaded on. I would think that who ever did that, apoliges for the zooomies for over reacting, I think the guy escaped many hours before.
The IO(where nobody hears you scream)watchin one of our birds takin the barracaid. was on the boat so long, I swear i passed females eveyonce in a while.
Iwokuni: should be called "no NOOKIE". GREAT BLT's. Remember Tim an I were in a jazz bar. Couple of Yakazu's were staring at Tim(he was half Korean/half American. the bartender said they were trying to figure out his nationality, we were going to open up a can of woop ass.
The PI: Serria Club(ooohhhh yea), white Rock, angles city, a game of smiles out in "my place"(cant remember the name, bout a 10 min. jeepnie ride.
Pusan: beaker getting a case of "clap of the yap"...yea he ate it.

Hello P-3 vets. I was in the 2nd wing, VMFA-122, MCAS Beaufort back in the 80's. While at a flea market in Anderson, SC I found a P-3 flight jacket with RF-4B patches on both sleeves and the "eyes of the Corps" patch on the chest. The jacket is in great condition, very little wear. Stamped inside the collar is the name DH Jones. Anyone know him or anything about him?
