Way back in 1971 thru 73 I worked on two YF-4 aircraft at Edwards AFB. I was with the F-4 test sq. I was a crew chief on a YF-4E that had fixed slats. We were testing a new gun cowl for the nose gun. The other one was tail number 445. It went into a flat spin and was lost in 1973 if I remember right. I had a great time there and saw some wild stuff.
