I have to comment that very few of the photos below are really of a mig-23. some are even sukoi designs. I just thought that I ought to point that out.

MiG-23 is an excellent fighter that had it's reputation
ruined several times, downgraded export versions, flown
by ill-trined pilots,vwith little or no experience against
higly trained pilots with the best avionics. Recent reevaluation
by U.S pilots claim that the fighter is similar to an F-16 in
maneuverability charasteristics. So pay respect to this
often misjudjed aircraft.
