My father, Andrew Clarence Fautheree, Jr. was killed Feb. 25, 1946 in a AT-6D out of Luke Field, AZ. Pilot was Robert D. Anderson. Accident site is listed as Castle Hot Springs-2 mi South. I have all the accident reports (available from Wright-Patterson AFB USAF archives).
I am looking for a photograph or information on those specific aircraft markings. I have most all the information on the airplane except the markings, specific data to that airplane. Anyone help? Ser. #42-85856. He was assigned to Squadron C, 3028AAFBU, AFTC (Air Force Training Cadet?).
thanks for anyone's help.

My great-Grandfather worked for the MSA during WWII in Europe. This was an early OSS/CIA cover. We just learned, however, that in '44, he was a passenger in at AT-6D that had a "forced landing" in Texas. He worked for the State Dept. Can anyone shed light on why he might have been in this plane, other than the possibility of a pilot friend taking him up for a thrill? Thanks, Will

my uncle was flying an AT-6D in Sebring, FL at Hendricks Field. Serial# 42-84221. We thought all these years he was in a P-38 and now learn he was in the AT. He had been flying B-17's in Europe for several years and We can't understand why he would be flying a trainer. The only site I have found that claims it will get an accident report want me to pay $25.00 + 1.00 per page to send it to me. He was only 28 when he was killed and I think that a big enough price to pay. Isn't this information free from our goverment? I don't mind paying a fee, just don't want to pay through the nose. Any advise?

Thank you

I am doing some research for my mother and her sister. They lost their brother, Victor Shipman, in an airplane crash. He was in the Army. He was flying a North American AT-6D on June 28, 1945. We are trying to find out the detail of the accident and the details of the airplane. Can you help us out? We would be most grateful. The family is in need of some closure as they did not see the body of their brother and only had little to no information from the Army. Please e-mail me at my address. I will look forward to hearing from you. If you would like more information about the aircraft please ask as we have just received some information about the plane and the accident. Information in contradictory. Thank you...Debbie
