While in the Navy (1951/1955-VC-35)I spent two short stints at EL Centro, CA. On one of those trips I had the good fortune to watch a P-82 making a pass across the field. At that time I didn't know exactly what type aircraft it was but I was sure that it was a twin fuselage P-51. That was quite a thrill for me. I always admired the P-51 Mustang, but never had the pleasure of seeing one.

Had the pleasure of working on many Douglas AD Skyraiders.
