For good color motion pictures of BT-1s in pre-war yellow wing paint schemes, check out the technicolor film Dive Bomber" with Errol Flynn. The film has a lot of other pre-war Navy aircraft with wonderful close ups!

The Douglas BT-1 was a US Army Basic Trainer, the Northrop BT-1 was a US Navy dive bomber.

The Douglas BT-1 photo's that I have seen look nothing like the a/c you identify as a Douglas BT-1. The Encyclopeida of World Aircraft shows a follow-on version known as the BT-2 with a round engine and a BIPLANE configuration! Possible eror here?
