Roger Cessna Waco, TX | I was stationed at Holloman up until it went over to civilian contract. I worked both flightline and P.E. inspection branch for the 4 1/2 years while assigned there. I was with the 433rd amu and was assigned to Acft 68-8168. I had the opportunity to ride in the back seat on 4 different occasions. Nothing I have ever done since could come close to the experience that I had. WOW !! 12/04/2007 @ 08:20 [ref: 18781] |
Jack , AZ | Question:
There is a black T-38 from Holloman that I've seen at several airshows. It seems to have a large piece of equipment in the second seat.
The pilot's name is lettered on the side as well as
"Mr. ......." on the side.
Can anyone tell me who or what "Mr......." is?
Thanx! 09/21/2007 @ 11:07 [ref: 17984] |
Thomas Minahan Goldsboro, NC | Love to see some pics of the Holloman AFB T-38B tri blue colors. I was station at Holloman 1982-1987. I was assigned to the 479TFTS 436 AMU. Hope some pics are still around.
Thanks,

Sylvie Vegas, NV | I had the privilege of working on the T-38 while stationed at Happy Holloman in 1986. I was assigned to the 433rd TFTS, green flight. My favorite thing about those old birds is how they dumped hydraulic fluid on you when you opened an inspection cover and ruined a perfectly good uniform. All in all, the easiest of aircraft to work on. Since the 49th took over, they have all been painted black to go with the color scheme of the F117a's. Imagine a T-38 in a Tuxedo!

Bruce Tretter Palm Bay, FL | I was stationed at Holloman A.F.B. 1980-1984 on the t-38B aircraft. The wing,so we were told, would normally fly as many sorties as the whole of the Pacific Air Force combined. The T-38 is a dependable aircraft and a real joy to work on as a line mechanic. When we deployed with our camo blue jets, the mantenance crew fondly called our aircraft "The Smurf Jets from Hell". 09/26/2001 @ 18:23 [ref: 3271] |
Howard , FL | the first talon is now being used by NASA. They pass by Eglin 3-5 a week. #1 came through last nite. I dont know the tail Number but it was 59..something.
It had a brand new paint job and it looked immaculate. There is also a big #1 painted on the side.
