Mike Letalien Lubbock, TX | Looking to add this aircraft to my photo collection at www.Photo4Phood.com...does anybody have info on the final destination of any of the original airframes? 06/20/2003 @ 14:29 [ref: 6522] |
JOSE GARCIA MADRID, FL | I think XP-56 could be used, having WWII lasted a couple of years more, as a basis for a parasite fighter under a B-36, years ahead of XP-85 Goblin (a jet fighter).
In the other hand, XP-56 shape was attractive, but clearly worse resolved than near contemporary Shinden japanese interceptor (1945), also with pusher propeller and rear-mounted radial engine.
