The Spartan UC-71(military designation)or 7-W(civil)Executive was built in Tulsa, Oklahoma beginning in 1934. Spartan built 34 aircraft of which approximately 22 are still flying. The Executive was considered to be the first all metal, monocoque fuselage, cantilever wing, executive aircraft. Capable of speeds of nearly 200 mph it was sought after by many corporate executives, in particular oil company execs.
