MARK VINAS Las Pinas, Manila, OTH | Philippines had one of the best airforces in Asia before, I think that was 60s-80s. When I visited the Villamor airbase in Manila last month (August 2008), I saw an F-8 crusader inside the museum together with other jets like f-5 and f-86 sabre and other sorties like Hueys and whatsoever with of course an insignia of the Philippine Air Force. And obviously, they never fly and they have empty engines. I even saw a cat with its kittens inside the fuselage of the f-5 freedom fighter sleeping soundly. They're so cute hehe. What a shame on us. OMG. Several F-8's and F-5s are in storage in Clark Airbase. Most of them stink. S211s are the remaining jets in our country and they are dwindling. We just use turbo-propped planes like the OV-10 and the SF-260 with cannons and 250 - 500 bombs on the sponsons or should I say below the fuselage to fight insurgents that lair in the very far southern part of the Philippines.

Dominique Banaga Bacolod, SK | Well have to admit our Airforce suck. They said they\\\'re going to get F-16 as well as one KC-10 Tanker aircraft. But NO.........
One Philippine senator stopped the deal with Lockheed when they were about to buy F-16A/B aircraft saying, \\\"We reject your offer......We want the F-16C/D versions.\\\"
For me that was some bullsh*t. They\\\'re still the same for Christ\\\'s Sake.
And also I would like to say it again:
Philippine Air Force aircraft are \\\"Widow Makers\\\" and \\\"Flying Coffins\\\" 08/29/2008 @ 06:21 [ref: 22576] |
