My father was stationed at Griffiss from 1983-85. I have not returned there but always wanted to. I have good memories and had a good time. I will always have a soft spot in my heart. Semper Fi Griffiss AFB.

Station at Griffiss in the 4039th Strategic Wing from 1959-1963 in the A&E Squadron. Was very happy to see pictures of serial numbered aircraft I worked on. Was a great place except, in winter with all that snow. Hello Col Brock, Sgt Donahue were ever you may be.

Jim I was a crew chief from 80-83 and was wondering if you had any pics from those years and what tail numbers. I am currently building a 52-G 1:72 scale and thought I would try to build my old plane or any from those years and I can't find any pics that I had. They would make a great ref. because my memory isn't what it use to be. Let me know and thanks.

I was at the Griff from '85-'96 and miss it greatly. 416 OMS bomber crew chief. Would also like a copy of that 45 degree take-off--I was driving the maintenance vehicle and was on the taxi-way with that G-52G coming at us. Put it in reverse and gunned it only to have it stall! Good times..

Mr. Jim Petty: Are you the photoghrapher that captured the B-52's during a "water" takeoff during a SAC EWO exercise? If so would love to purchase or otherwise get copies of these photos!

I was at Griffiss from 1956-1959. I was an a/c mechanic with the 465th. Had many good times there. Several of us try to get together every 3 years. We will be in Rome this year in June.

Hello everyone.. Pete always wondered what happened to you. Albert I spend almost 25 years at the Griff in 416th SPS and as the photographer for the 416th BMW there are two trunks of photo's that I still have and have been over the last few years scanning them in and posting them shortly. As for the Rome historical society there are quite a few photo's that I took there, and many more that have not seen the light of day for 15 years. I will copy them off to disk and give you a copy as soon as they are done. TC folks Jim
