The glue, bamboo and wood nicknames came from the fact that the airframe was made entirely of wood. The skin of the aircraft was fabric. It was very similar in construction to the Stearman and the Waco UPF-7. Fun airplane to fly but even though it was a twin engine when you lost one you needed to find a place to land since the other engine only stretched your glide. By the way, we called the engine the "shaky jake". When we didn't see oil coming off the engine in flight we landed immediately.

Do you happen to know why this aircraft had some of its nicknames (such as Rhapsody in Glue, Brass Hat, Box Cat etc), or who I could contact to find out?
