Ross McClintock Bakersfield, CA | To: Jeff Weber, Steve Clark-
I have a picture of my Dad's crew in front of the same plane (see picture below) On the back it has the stamp of the photographer from Ardmore, OK. As I recall, my Dad
said they took crew pictures in front of one of the training planes, the reason for the number on the nose. They were shipped overseas soon after and served in the 333rd BS, 94th BG Bury St. Edmond. 06/13/2008 @ 23:00 [ref: 21420] |

The plane bares the number 2839 in large print on the fuselage. Is there anyway to determine what happened with the plane or do I need further information?
Well I have the same photo of my uncle Jesse Clark in front of that plane so not knowing now if that plane was a photo OP, they put all crews in front of or not. I can tell him that the crew my uncle was with was shoot down over Berlin, and my uncle survived the crash he was the belly gunner. but was killed be farmers on the ground
If
Jeff Weber see’s this I hope it helps

Phil LeGrand Rancho Cucamonga, CA | My dad flew a B17 during WWII. His plane was known as the "Verna Mae". It was named after my mother, but the nose art was never done. I'm trying to locate the plane's serial number and possibly find out what happened to it after the war. I know that it made it to Florida. My dad flew 17 missions over Germany and was awarded a certificate of completion dubbed, the "Lucky Bastards Club". This was for those who made it through a certain number of missions without being shot down. I have scanned a copy of the certificate and will try to upload to your site, I think your readers will find it very interesting and historic. If anyone has any information, my dad's plane was in the 447th bomb group. Thanks. 02/03/2008 @ 12:44 [ref: 19541] |
Jeff Weber Greensboro, NC | I have a picture of my Dad's crew with the b-17 bomber in the background. He was a radio operator. The plane bares the number 2839 in large print on the fuselage. Is there anyway to determine what happened with the plane or do I need further information? What do these numbers mean?
Thanks for any help,

Bess , WA | Greetings All!
Does anyone have any info on the B-17F-130BO serial number 42-30989? My dad was the navigator. He was stationed somewhere near L.A. I have a great photo of Dad & the crew standing proudly next to their plane.
Thanks for the help.

Chuck Spinner Ashville, NY | Hi, Our local judge, a great man named Art Thomas, I believe was a crew member (navigator) on the Shoo-shoo Baby. If anyone has any pictures of the crew that include Mr. Thomas I would love to arrange for you to send them to me and I can surprise Judge Thomas with the picture. Is the Shoo shoo Baby now at the Wright Patterson Airforce Base? Please contact me ASAP at the above email address. Thank you, Chuck Spinner
Also, is there one book that is best that you would recommend about this plane? 03/21/2007 @ 12:05 [ref: 15991] |
David Reese , KY | The B17F "SHOO-SHOO BABY" 42-6159 as shown below with the flight crew was with the 19th Photographic Charting Squadron on charting and mapping missions in North Africa, the Middle East and Europe during 1944-1945. I have the names, ranks and crew functions of each of the ten crew members shown in the photograph taken on December 24, 1944 in Khartoum, Sudan. If you look closely you will notice that "shoo-shoo baby" is holding a cigar in her right hand. 02/28/2007 @ 14:57 [ref: 15710] |
