david e. gibbs brevard, NC | I flew as radio operator on what we called WB-26C. We were part of the 67th Tac at Kimpo AFB (K14).Got in my 50 missions during the early part of 1953. The weatherman coded the weather info and I sent the coded missage back to Kimpo to our ground radio station. This was only done on the long range missions eg down to China and up to the north China sea at nite. Would love to hear from any interested persons. Our favorite airplane had the nomenclature of 555, or triple nickel. 12/19/2007 @ 15:38 [ref: 18972] |
L Flinn , NY | Can anyone tell me if the plexiglass nose of the Douglas B 26 Ser.# 44-35323 has a windshield wiper or not? I think it is based in AZ or CA.

15 May, 1952 Korea, A RB26C was shot down with the following crew members on board:
Art Callan
George Greenwell
August Mouton
All these men were pilots and were MIA/KIA. I am looking for anyone who may have known them. G. Greenwell was my brother-inlaw. If anyone out there knows anything about them or the mission please conact me. I am in contact with their families and trying to get info. I have the Russian pilots combat report of the incident that my sister got through the Air Force in 2001. Any information would be appreciated. 03/29/2006 @ 20:34 [ref: 12971] |

The Douglas A/B-26 bomber was the only American bomber to fly missions in three wars. After World War II, it served as a first-line bomber during the Korean War and during the Vietnam War.
