Bill McGraw Greenville, Mississippi | I was there soon after the Hawker Hurrican burned. All that was left were the cockpit and main gear legs. The Avro Lancaster was beautiful, the first I'd seen and I had been to Oshkosh, WI 3 times in the past. I saw a B-25 flying the same week near Ancaster. 07/29/2008 @ 01:16 [ref: 8283] |

susan zujew newmarket, Ontario | I have a booklet that is dated June, 1910 that is about George Davidson's Gyropter. Is is a promotional booklet that was used to get financial backing for his craft. There are pictures of the moveable shed at Taplow where the machine was being built. There are also pictures of the construction staff and slso detailed diagrams of the craft.
In 1984 I sent information about this booklet to the Smithsonian Air and Space museum and they wanted me to send it to them so that they could include it in their rare memorabilia exhibition.
I would prefer to keep it here in Canada, however.
Would you please tell me if it is valuable, both financially as well as historically?
Yours, Susan 06/29/2006 @ 09:37 [ref: 5096] |
